We try to keep the do’s and don’ts to an absolute minimum! But there are a few things we ask you to be mindful of before you book…
What’s the latest information regarding Covid-19 and Well Cottage?
We’re doing some things differently to make sure you have a safe and relaxed stay at Well Cottage. There is a summary here, plus details of what we are expecting from our guests, and what you’ll find when you get to Cornwall.
What time can I arrive?
You can arrive any time from 4pm. If you are going to be later than 6pm, we do ask that you give us an indication of your arrival time the day before your arrival so that one of us can be here to greet you.
What time do I have to leave?
The latest time of departure is 10am. Please respect this time – it allows us to prepare the cottage to the highest standards for the next guests.
Do you accept short breaks?
Yes – if we can – call or email us to check availability.
Can I arrive on a day other than Saturday?
Although our standard holiday start day in the summer is Saturday, just tell us if you’d like more flexibility in your arrangements and we’ll do our very best to help.
Is your cottage non-smoking?
Yes – we have a strict non-smoking policy inside Well Cottage.
Can I bring children?
Sorry but we don’t accept children under 12 unless by prior arrangement – for two reasons. we want to make Well Cottage a ‘grown-up’ holiday retreat, and the cottage just isn’t suitable for youngsters.
Can I bring my pet?
No, we don’t accept animals at Well Cottage.
What local facilities are there?
Although not isolated, we are in a very quiet rural area between the villages of Herodsfoot and Duloe. Herodsfoot is a peaceful hamlet surrounded by fabulous woodland walks. Nearest convenience store and pub (Dobwalls or Duloe) – 2 miles. Nearest large supermarket – 5 miles. Looe and Polperro – 6-7 miles – both have a good selection of restaurants.
How about road access?
Road access to Well Cottage is very good – the last quarter of a mile of the lane is only one car wide but the visibility is good and there are plenty of passing spaces. PLEASE follow our dircetions rather than sat-nav if you want to get here the easiest way.
What activities can I take part in locally?
From golf, fishing, sailing, surfing, horse-riding, kayaking – we keep lots of information at Well Cottage, and we’re on hand to advise. If you have any specific interests that you’d like information about before your arrival, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Will my mobile phone work in the cottage? How good is Internet access?
We offer Ultrafast all-fibre broadband – 70mb/s down, 20 mb/s up – unlimited use. Well Cottage also has a BT Whole Home Premium Wi-Fi system, so a good signal is available in all rooms. We can’t 100% guarantee availability but we haven’t had any problems with it – but if disaster ever strikes, we’re on hand and can piggy-back service across the garden from our house! Indoors, mobile network signals can be flaky (so we use wifi calling). There is a landline in Well Cottage which you are welcome to use – local and emergency calls are free.
